Job 1010 was a home office with a recessed bookshelf already built into the wall. The client — an attorney — wanted cabinets built into the wall below it. Not in front of the wall. Into it. The kind of job other contractors look at, shake their heads, and pass on.
We didn’t pass. The cabinets were built directly into the wall cavity, flush with the surrounding drywall, looking as though they were always meant to be there. Because they were — the homeowner just needed someone willing to do the work to prove it.
That job led to more work, including the kitchen island reduction on job 1033. When someone trusts you with the hard job first, the relationship tends to stick.
